Today I would like to talk about the experience that is to me living on Yungay neighbordhood. This is situated on Santiago Centro, so it is just on the center of the city, but it is like an oasis because it doesn't have high-rise buildings or a lot of office buildings, like the rest of the center, in fact, it has a lot more green than the rest of the center. It is very residential.
The buldings of Yungay neighbordhood are very old so we can appreciate a beautiful architectural set, and they have big and tall rooms, and n area distribution that nothing has to do with the new architectural forms to live, that have little places to share, and the space is organized on a very economic way. Before the places to live where diferent. That is one of the things I like about the neighborhood.
The other thing is that there live a lot of families, young people living together and there are a lot of cultural groups and associations that are always organizing activities that make the whole community participate on nice things. Besides, there is a lot of musical and theatrical movement, and that is an area where I move a lot, and I loke it very much.
There is Santiago's Library, that is a place that has been remodel to be more comfortable and it has a lot of reading rooms and an extensive book collection, and it is very nice go there to work or read because is a very nice place. On the front of the library, we have the Quinta Normal Park, where we can appreciate one the most beautiful places on Santiago. It is a vast park with museums, galleries, lake, even a part of the Medical Departament of the University. It is very big and it has a lot of enormous trees that make you think on the mount of years that has that place.
I like a lot the whole place because i often feel like i am on other time of history, because it is a very quiet place to leave, is very calm, and is a place where people say hello to you on streets and you can chat with your neighbor with no suspicion, that is something that doesn't happens on a lot of places of Santiago, that is a very hostile place to live on the majority of the City. Yungay neighborhood represents a slow way to leave with a magical architecture.
